Feltwell smockmill stood in Mill Drift although in the 1700s this was known as Mill Lane. The mill was possibly built as a replacement for the earlier postmill. |
Mentioned as Mill Lane in Indenture dated 17 October 1729 relating to South Hall Manor. Inclosure Award 1815, mill in possession of Heading family. |
The Heading family also owned Wilton Road postmill and Wilton Road towermill. |
