Holkham postmill |
Holkham postmill was working in the 1200s but no record has been found since then. |
In 1247 a fine was levied between Hugh de Cressi, petent and Ralph de Akeney tenant of half a messuage and half a carucate of land in HOLCHAM, which Ralph had, who granted to SYMON prior of Petreston, the moiety thereof to the west, except the capital messuage and the windmill, which were to remain to Ralph. |
