Methwold had a postmill that stood to the south of the Hythe Road.

James King, Gentleman of Downham Market, wrote a will on 1st August 1813 that was proved on 23rd June 1814. His personal estate was under £600.00 and Stamp Duty was £11.00.

In the will, a pub in Methwold was left to son John King and another pub was left to daughter Bridget who was married to ? Blacknourn, in Downham Market.

Also mentioned in the will were pieces and parcels of meadow and pastures along with arable land near to and adjoining previously mentiond other cottages, in the whole by estimation 13 acres (more or less) part freehold and part copyhold in METHWOLD, in the said occupation of James Sanfer his undertenants or assigns. Also all that corn windmill with the going gears and appertenances situate being in Methwold aforesaid. And half an acre of land (more or less) upon which the said windmill stands.
