Reedham tower windmill in Mill Road was a substantial 6 storey mill. In 1815, the patent sails were powering 2 pairs of French burr stones and by 1834 this had been increased to three pairs of stones along with 2 flour mills and a jumper. Auxiliary power was being supplied via a steam engine by 1862.

Lot 1. A MESSUAGE & TOWER WINDMILL with the necessary stables, outhouses and Land containing altogether about 3 roods and 20 perches, situate at Reedham in Norfolk and now in the occupation of Mr. Charles Layton, Miller.
The Buildings are very substantial and in excellent repair being nearly new. The Mill contains two pair of French stones and the necessary going gears.
The situation is a most desirable one for a miller, it being at short distances from Yarmouth, Norwich, Beccles and Bungay and having a communication with Reedham Staith, from which there is a navigable river to the above places. The Mill is particularly well situated for the wind.
Part of the purchase money may remain on mortgage of the several Lots.

re John Gaff, miller, Reedham. Liabilities £837. 17. 5, deficiency £549. 7. 5. The debtor said that he did well until six or seven years ago, when the taste for stone made flour changed to that made by the roller process, he had to give up making flour. He made some bad debts and the value of the mill depreciated. He probably became insolvent two years ago, but expected to recover himself. His turnover was about £2000 a year, but he could not say what his profit was. He had to buy flour from other millers and used his mill for grinding purposes only. He borrowed £125 last December from a money-lender and undertook to pay £150 in six months. This creditor instituted the bankruptcy proceedings. He sustained a heavy loss by the sails being blown off his mill. Examination closed.

HENRY HOLLIDGE, a corn chandler with premises in Ber Street, Norwich, was installed at the redundant yarn mill by 1892 as a corn merchant ... Lakenham_mill saw service, probably as a grist mill producing animal feed, until 1908. It was in 1908 that a disastrous fire engulfed the mill ...
A new mill, of smaller dimensions this time, was built on the site by the insurance company, but it would seem that Hollidge's customers had meantime taken their trade elsewhere, so he moved on to a windmill at Reedham, which was in turn destroyed by fire in 1912.
