Shropham postmill stood to the west of the village on the south side of the Breckles Road, later to become the Watton Road. The mill had a roundhouse and the (probably common) sails powered a single pair of French burr stones, a flour mill and jumper. |

The only information I have is from family tree research. George Burlingham born 1745 in Kenninghall Norfolk who married a Margaret Lovick, they had 14 children he died in the Dec 1800 he had left a Will mentioning leaving everything to Margret his wife, he mentions his Dwellings and Singular houses and out houses and gardens, in Shropham, something called the Red Lyon with all it's out houses yard and garden in Kenninghall, and all other of his real estate, what so ever and where so ever, if she continues to be his widow. He goes onto say he also gives unto Margaret his wife, during the time aforesaid and the now and occupation of my Windmill in Shropham, with all it's going goods and all implements and appotenances after his decease. It also says if she marries on after his decease then he gives permission for the Windmill to be desposed of, taken appart and sold and devide the monies between his heirs who have survived him. His widow did not re-marry she died 1833 still in the name of Burlingham. This Will was proved in 1801. |
