South Walsham towermill, stood just to the north of Flowerdew Lane, South Walsham St. Lawrence and just to the southeast of South Walsham St. Lawrence Mill_Hill_postmill and was known as King's mill in its early years. The mill used 4 patent sails to power 2 pairs of French burr stones and was turned to wind with a fantail. |
The mill used 4 patent sails to power 2 pairs of French burr stones and was turned to wind with a fantail. The windshaft and curb were both of cast iron and provision for external auxiliary steam power was provided via a pulley and lay shaft. |
