Stow Bardolph smockmill stood at Stow Bridge and was an eight sided mill built on a single story brick base. In 1866 a pair of 3 ft stones from the mill were advertised for sale.

July 30, 1884 at 4 for 5 o'c in the afternoon precisely, at the Crown Inn, Stow Bridge (in lots) the following very desirable Freehold Arable Land, Wind Mill, Dwelling Houses, Baking Office, Accommodation Pasture Land and Cottages.

All those six enclosures of very productive ARABLE LAND together with the Wind Mill (substantially built and in perfect repair), barn, stables, cart lodge and grass paddock adjoining, containing 27a. 1r. 35p. (more or less) most conveniently situated and abutting north upon the highway to West Head in part and upon property of Mr. Rolfe in other part, south and west upon land of Mrs. Harding, east upon the River Ouze in part and upon property of Mr. Rolfe in other part; in the occupation of Mr. W. T. Reeve, jun. at an apportioned rental of £70 per annum.

The property is Freehold. The Cottages are at present unoccupied, the rest of the property is in the occupation of Mr. W. T. Reeve as a yearly tenant at £70 per annum.
Tithe rent charge £7. 3. 10 per annum.

The remains of the mill are remembered locally as an octagonal brick building about six feet high. It had been roofed over and used as a shed and has now disappeared.
