Wymondham Browick post mill stood on the southeast side of the town just north of the River Tiffey to the south of the Browick Road, some 500 yards from the market place. The mill was renovated c.1812 and a two storey roundhouse and mill house were built c.1826. The sails powered 2 pairs of French burr stones and in the 1700s a horse powered flour mill was being used.

Aug. 20th. On Saturday last (17 Aug.) in the afternoon, as some children were playing near the windmill on the fairland in the town (Wymondham) in trying to run between the sails as the mill was going, one of the sails unfortunately struck against the temple of a son of Mr. Rix and bruised him in so terrible a manner that he died in less than two hours.
