Wymondham Norwood Common postmill stood just to the south of the old Norwich Road. By 1795, Norwood Common was known as Wymondham Common and it was marked as Norwich Common on the O.S. map of 2013.. |
Friday, March 9th, 1764 Whereas the Windmill upon Norwood Common near Wymondham, in the Road to Norwich was blown down by the late high wind; and as the same is intended to be rebuilt by Contract (or that and the House perhaps sold) and there are remaining several of the large Materials such as the Main post, Wheels, Cross bar, Axle tree etc. and others that will cut to shorter Lengths; Any Millwright who think it worth his while to view the same and make an Estimate thereof so as to be done in a workmanlike manner (and afterwards approved by able Workmen) the same are desired to send their Proposals to Mr. William Catton at Shipdham in Norfolk on or before the 16th instant.
