North Denes North tower mill no. 3B was built to replace postmill_no._3A that had in turn replaced the earlier trestle postmill_no._3. The mill was possibly working as early as 1673. By 1831 the mill was known as Youell's Mill but in its latter years it was know as Tooley's Mill and stood just to the north of Euston Road.
A bake office was also run on the premises. |
The four storey mill used 4 double shuttered sails to run 2 pairs of 5 ft. French burr stones, 3 flour mills and a boulting screen. The Norfolk boat shaped cap held a 6 bladed fan.

These Premises form all together the first situation in Yarmouth for Trade, there being good dry cellars under the house and shop renders them well adapted for any business where room is required and are so convenient that they may be occupied together or easily separated. In 1825, William Youell, the owner, petitioned to have the charge annulled. The assembly agreed to his request on payment of 40/-. William Youell stated that his freehold was dated from 1873. |
