North Denes post mill No. 1 was the second most northern mill on the Denes. The mill ran a single pair of five foot French burr stones and two flour mills.
The mill was owned by Yarmouth Corporation and leased out to millers. |

Also a Tenement adjoining the Mill. The above premises were late in the occupation of Mr. Simon Woodcock Boyce and are very complete, desirably situated for business and in good repair and the purchaser may have possession of them at Midsummer next. It is not known if Simon Boyce was at the Denes mill at the time of the above two newspaper notices.

Whereas I, SIMONDS WOODCOCK BOYCE of Great Yarmouth in the county of Norfolk, Miller, having on Sunday the 13th day of November last publickly declared at different houses in Gorleston that I had criminal conversation with Robina, the wife of Jonathan DABNAHAM of Gorleston, Yeoman and having otherwise defamed the said Robina DABNAHAM, do hereby acknowledge the same was a false and scandalous report and raised by me without any provocation or foundation whatever and I do therefore thus publickly retract the same and beg the said Mrs. DABNAHAM's pardon. As witness my hand this 24th Day of January 1804,
