Poringland postmill stood on Poringland Heath on the south side of the Stoke Road to the west side of the village. The mill had common sails that drove 2 pairs of French burr stones, a flour mill and a cylinder.

All Persons that have any Claim or Demand upon Jonathan Nethercote of Poringland, Miller, are desired to send an Account thereof to Mr. William Forster, Attorney in Norwich, that they may receive Satisfaction for the same.

All that capital PREMISES called PORINGLAND MILL, capable of grinding and dressing 20 quarters a week, with granary, Stables and excellent Dwelling house with garden and land thereto belonging, the whole in complete repair. Part of the purchase money
may remain if required.

Norfolk Chronicle - 1st & 15th August 1795

The following melancholy accident happened during the late high wind; Mr. John Greef, of Cranworth, being in his mill at the time it was blown down, was unfortunately killed by its fall.
A mill at Aldeby, and Mr. Chasteney’s mill at Brissingham (the third within three years) were also blown down. – The sails from Cringleford, Mulbarton, New Buckenham, Poringland, and several other mills in the county, were also swept off.

The buildings are all brick and tile and in good repair.
