Silfield
postmill |
Silfield post mill stood on the south side of the north end of Burnthouse Lane. The mill was built with common sails and these were later replaced with patent sails that powered 2 pairs of French burr stones and a flour mill. The roundhouse was possibly also a later addition. Later, c.1850 Silfield_towermill was built on the same site.
